We understand that creating a sustainable landscape means working toward a thoughtful approach to resource use and waste creation. Keeping this in mind we have established a set of guiding principles that we consider throughout all stages of project development and management.
• To REDUCE the use of resources such as water, electricity and fuel.
• To RE-USE or RECYCLE on-site hardscape products and organic materials.
• To REPLACE inefficient technologies and products with newer, environmentally-responsible options where available.
At International Landscaping Inc. we are continuously seeking tangible ways to improve our operations and expand our services to become a leader in environmental performance and management. We are taking action to make sure our home office space is green too.
Reduce energy consumption
• Using high-efficiency office lighting, as well as lighting on timers and motion sensors throughout property.
• Powering-down all appliances and equipment when not in use.
• Initiating the parking area as an ‘idle-free’ zone.
Recycle
• Paper, cardboard, glass and plastics.
• Rain water run-off for use in shop facilities.
Replace office and shop supplies
• Such as garbage bags, paper, soaps, uniforms, etc with organic, biodegradable, or environmentally responsible alternatives.
Restore integrity of the regional environment
• Introducing pockets of native vegetation and rainwater catch basins throughout our property. |
