Sustainable landscaping is a leading-edge approach that strives to create a balance between nature and function by minimizing the potential impact of built landscapes on the natural environment. It utilizes the natural assets of the land to create a beautiful, natural oasis.
A sustainable design for example, may consider sun patterns when deciding where to place trees, as shading or sunning certain areas of a building can help moderate energy use. Sustainable design might also incorporate a rainwater harvesting system on the property in order to recycle rainfall for irrigating lawns and gardens.
Building and construction can be tricky to navigate from an environmental perspective, as it often involves the creation of waste. We attempt to mitigate negative effects of building and construction by focusing on waste diversion. This means we try to recycle and re-use building materials whenever possible in order to divert them from going to landfill sites. We also utilize environmental construction supplies such as Eco Pavers and organic dust suppressants.
From soil enhancement, to mulching services, to landscape restoration, our landscape management services involve long-term sustainable practices to achieve ecosystem balance. Our goal is to create a customized program for each property that establishes overall good health throughout landscape and turf areas. The main focus of our landscape management department this year is to be a leader in offering chemical-free alternatives to mitigate issues of pests and weeds.
We also provide winter management services that utilize anti-icing and de-icing products that are derived from renewable plant material and are 100% organic and biodegradable. By endorsing the use of environmentally friendly products that are biodegradable, we can reduce the damage to our environment. |
"Sustainable landscaping can be introduced into all aspects of landscape – from design, to build, to long-term management."
